All manuscripts submitted to Global Perspectives on Christian Education and Theology (GPCET) undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, integrity, and academic contribution of the published work.

1. Initial Screening

Upon submission, the editorial team conducts an initial screening to evaluate:

  • Relevance to the journal’s focus and scope

  • Compliance with submission guidelines

  • Originality and plagiarism check (similarity index must be below 20%)

  • Language quality and academic writing standard

Manuscripts that do not meet these basic requirements may be rejected without peer review.

2. Double-Blind Review

Eligible manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the field. In the double-blind review process:

  • The identity of the authors is hidden from the reviewers.

  • The identity of the reviewers is hidden from the authors.

Reviewers are asked to evaluate:

  • Originality and significance of the work

  • Clarity of objectives and research questions

  • Appropriateness of methodology

  • Soundness of data analysis and interpretation

  • Contribution to the field of Christian education and theology

  • Quality of writing and structure

3. Review Outcomes

The reviewers will recommend one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revisions

  • Minor revisions (accepted after minor changes)

  • Major revisions (re-evaluation required after substantial changes)

  • Reject

The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or Section Editors based on the reviewers' feedback.

4. Revision Process

Authors who are requested to revise their manuscript must:

  • Submit a revised version within the specified time (usually 2–4 weeks)

  • Provide a detailed response letter explaining how each reviewer’s comment was addressed

Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers for further evaluation if needed.

5. Final Decision and Publication

Once the manuscript is accepted, it will go through:

  • Final proofreading and formatting by the editorial team

  • Galley proof approval by the author

  • Scheduled publication in the upcoming issue

The average time from submission to publication is 8–12 weeks
