Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Christian Pedagogy and Theology (JCPT) undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure high-quality, ethical, and academically sound publications.
1. Initial Screening
Upon submission, the editorial team conducts an initial screening to evaluate:
-
Scope relevance
-
Basic formatting compliance
-
Plagiarism check
-
Language clarity
Manuscripts that do not meet the basic criteria will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected.
2. Double-Blind Peer Review
Qualified manuscripts will be assigned to two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. In a double-blind review, both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous to each other to ensure objectivity.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:
-
Originality and contribution to the field
-
Clarity of research questions and objectives
-
Theoretical and methodological rigor
-
Quality of analysis and interpretation
-
Relevance to Christian education and theology
-
Quality of references and citations
3. Review Outcomes
Reviewers will recommend one of the following decisions:
-
Accept without revision
-
Accept with minor revisions
-
Revise and resubmit (major revisions required)
-
Reject
The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or the Editorial Board, based on the reviewers' feedback.
4. Revision Process
If revisions are required, authors are given a specific timeframe to revise and resubmit their manuscript. The revised manuscript may be sent back to the original reviewers for re-evaluation.
5. Final Decision and Publication
Once a manuscript is accepted, it proceeds to copyediting, layout, and final proofreading before publication in the upcoming issue.
JCPT is committed to maintaining transparency, academic integrity, and fairness in every step of the review process. All reviews are conducted confidentially and ethically, in line with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
