Publication Ethics
The International Transformative Education and Humanities Journal (ITEHJ) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. All parties involved in the publication process — authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher — are expected to adhere to the ethical guidelines outlined below, in line with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) standards.
1. Duties of Authors
-
Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must submit original works and properly cite or quote the work and/or words of others. Plagiarism in any form is unethical and unacceptable.
-
Multiple Submissions: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time.
-
Acknowledgement of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of all sources of data and support must be given.
-
Authorship of the Paper: Only those who have made significant contributions to the research and writing should be listed as authors. All co-authors must approve the final version of the paper.
-
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation.
2. Duties of Editors
-
Fair Review: Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic merit, regardless of the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
-
Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and publisher.
-
Publication Decisions: Editors are responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published, based on the validity of the work and its relevance to the journal’s scope.
-
Conflict of Interest: Editors should recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
3. Duties of Reviewers
-
Confidentiality: Reviewers must keep manuscripts confidential and must not share or discuss them with others except as authorized by the editor.
-
Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, and observations should be formulated clearly with supporting arguments.
-
Timeliness: Reviewers should notify the editor if they are unable to complete the review within the agreed timeframe.
-
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors or institutions.
