The Influence of Implementing Inquiry Model by Christian Religious Education Teachers on Learning Interest of Class VII Students at SMP Negeri 3 Sipoholon

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to determine the positive and significant influence of implementing the inquiry model by Christian Religious Education teachers on the learning interest of Class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Sipoholon Academic Year 2024/2025. The research hypothesis is that there is a positive and significant influence of learning interest in students taught using the inquiry model compared to those not taught using the inquiry model in Class VII SMP Negeri 3 Sipoholon Academic Year 2024/2025. The research method used is a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design, which is conducted on one group without a comparison group. The population consists of all Class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Sipoholon Academic Year 2024/2025, totaling 102 students. The research sample was determined using purposive sampling, specifically Class VII C as the experimental class, consisting of 35 students. The research data was analyzed using the paired sample ttest, which yielded tcount = -33.995 < ttable = -2.032 with a two-tailed test, and the acceptance of H1 indicates that there is a significant influence of learning interest in Class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Sipoholon Academic Year 2024/2025 who were taught using the inquiry model. The learning interest of Class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Sipoholon Academic Year 2024/2025 before being taught using the inquiry model had an overall average score of 2.81, and there was an increase in learning interest after being taught using the inquiry model, with an overall average score of 3.82. The implementation of the inquiry model can increase the learning interest of Class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Sipoholon Academic Year 2024/2025.
