Publication Ethics

The International Journal of Community Service and Empowerment (IJCSE) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and taking all possible measures against publication malpractice. The journal follows the guidelines and best practices set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to the following ethical guidelines:

1. Authors’ Responsibilities

  • Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere.

  • Proper citations and acknowledgment of sources must be provided.

  • All authors listed must have significantly contributed to the research and writing.

  • Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest.

  • Data used in the research should be presented honestly and accurately.

  • In cases of errors or inaccuracies discovered after publication, authors are obligated to promptly inform the editor.

2. Reviewers’ Responsibilities

  • Reviewers must provide an objective, timely, and constructive evaluation of the manuscript.

  • They must maintain confidentiality and not use the manuscript content for personal advantage.

  • Reviewers should inform the editor if they detect ethical issues such as plagiarism or data fabrication.

  • Any conflict of interest that might influence their review must be disclosed.

3. Editors’ Responsibilities

  • Editors must ensure a fair, unbiased, and timely peer-review process.

  • Editorial decisions must be based solely on the manuscript’s academic merit and relevance to the journal’s scope.

  • Editors must uphold confidentiality and avoid conflicts of interest.

  • They are responsible for taking appropriate action in case of ethical complaints or misconduct.

4. Publisher’s Responsibilities

  • The publisher supports the editorial team in maintaining the integrity of the academic record.

  • In case of proven misconduct, the publisher will work with editors to issue corrections, retractions, or other appropriate actions.
