Author Guidelines

Authors who wish to submit their manuscript to the International Journal of Community Service and Empowerment (IJCSE) are expected to follow the guidelines below to ensure a smooth review and publication process.

1. General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Manuscripts must be written in English using clear, academic language.

  • All submissions must be made through the journal's online submission system.

  • Authors must use the provided article template (downloadable from the journal website).

  • There are no article processing charges (APCs) or submission fees.

2. Manuscript Format

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt

  • Spacing: 1.5 lines

  • Margins: 2.5 cm (top, bottom, left, and right)

  • Length: 4,000–7,000 words (including references)

3. Structure of the Manuscript

The manuscript should be structured as follows:

a. Title

  • Concise and informative (max. 16 words)

  • Capitalize the first letter of each main word

  • Avoid abbreviations

b. Author(s) and Affiliation(s)

  • Full name(s) of author(s)

  • Institutional affiliation(s)

  • Email address of corresponding author

c. Abstract

  • Maximum 200 words

  • Summarize the background, purpose, methods, results, and conclusion

  • Include 3–5 keywords below the abstract

d. Introduction

  • Brief background of the issue

  • Objective(s) of the community service

  • Relevance and significance of the work

e. Methodology

  • Description of the approach, target community, and implementation steps

  • Include tools, techniques, or models used

f. Results and Discussion

  • Outcomes of the activity

  • Impact on the community

  • Critical analysis and reflection on the process

g. Conclusion

  • Summarize the main findings and recommendations

h. Acknowledgements (if applicable)

  • Credit individuals or institutions that supported the project

i. References

  • Use APA (7th edition) style

  • Include only sources cited in the manuscript

  • Minimum 10 references, preferably from the last 5 years

4. Plagiarism Policy

  • All submissions will be checked using plagiarism detection software.

  • Manuscripts with similarity index above 20% will be rejected automatically.

5. Review Process

  • All manuscripts are subject to double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers.

  • The editorial team reserves the right to edit articles for clarity and format without altering the content.

6. Copyright and Licensing

  • Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication.

  • All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
