Embodying Thankfulness: The Christian Education Teacher’s Personality According to Genesis 8:20 at SD Negeri No.104297 Sei Bamban
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study explores the embodiment of thankfulness as a defining aspect of Christian Education teachers’ personality, grounded in the theological reflection of Genesis 8:20 and contextualized at SD Negeri No.104297 Sei Bamban. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this research synthesizes findings from theological, psychological, and pedagogical studies to understand how gratitude shapes teachers’ character, motivation, and professional behavior. The analysis reveals that gratitude, as exemplified by Noah’s act of thanksgiving after the flood, represents a faithful response to God’s grace and serves as a model for Christian educators. Teachers who embody gratitude demonstrate humility, resilience, empathy, and moral integrity—qualities that enrich both their personal spirituality and classroom practice. Gratitude transforms teaching into a form of worship, where daily educational tasks become expressions of devotion and service. Moreover, the study highlights that gratitude fosters emotional stability, relational harmony, and reflective pedagogy, contributing to a nurturing and faith-oriented learning environment. In the context of SD Negeri No.104297 Sei Bamban, gratitude empowers teachers to remain steadfast amid limited resources, transforming challenges into opportunities for spiritual and professional growth. Ultimately, the embodiment of thankfulness in Christian Education teachers reflects the integration of faith and vocation, affirming that education grounded in gratitude not only shapes students intellectually but also spiritually. Thus, teaching becomes an altar of thanksgiving—a sacred act that mirrors Noah’s offering and continually honors God’s enduring grace in the life of both teacher and learner.
